Getting There & Parking
Christmas Uptown takes place in the Uptown area of Mount Carmel, Illinois, centered around Merchants Park. Free parking is available at area churches nearby — most are just 1–3 blocks from the festival area. We recommend arriving early for the best parking spots.
Restrooms & Changing Stations
Public Restrooms are available at the Senior Center, The River Church, and at Portable Restrooms placed at various locations. A changing station is available at The River Church. Restroom locations are marked on the festival map.
What to Wear
The festival is held outdoors in early December. Dress warmly in layers — coats, hats, gloves, and comfortable shoes are recommended.
Food & Drinks
A variety of food vendors offer everything from BBQ and tamales to kettle corn and cookies. Hot cocoa is available too. Most vendors accept cash; many also accept cards or Venmo. There is no alcohol served at this family festival.
Families & Strollers
Christmas Uptown is designed for families. Strollers are welcome and the festival area is navigable on sidewalks and streets. Activities are available for all ages.
